Besides the environmental impact, the missed opportunity to use the energy captured in the vapours, is enormous. Looking at inland barges in the Netherlands alone, it is estimated that the equivalent of 15.000 households electricity consumption is released into the atmosphere on a yearly base.

Using a cicular solution reduces the unnecessary generation of CO2 like with burning/oxidising vapours.
